POND memories

(HAH! Geddit!)

Watching invasion, I had a thought, a tediously linked one mind you, but a thought none the less. Those of you that had ponds in your gardens as a kid will remember this.

Those days where your dad etc would decide to clear it out, and you'd have a day of archaeological type discoveries - not jsut plants and newts and frogs, but bits of toys you thought were lost forever... Action Force figures (Shipwreck literally shipwrecked and covered in slim attached to a plant, some pieces of lego, Barbie's head... allsorts.

Which brought then to Olie putting his Action Force figures in any three of the fish tanks we had... or making them scale the Christmas trees we had when we were little.

Ahhh. And I am done.

But pond cleaning day was awesome. As were the days we've upgrade ponds and the newts would get confused and sort of go back to old one, even though it didn't exist. Cute but wierd little buggers.

I found out on sunday that my littlest brother drownd my other brothers tortiose while giving him a drink of water in the only pond we ever had ( i thought he'd died of natural causes), but my own pond dipping was in the local big pond and involved getting in up to my knickers and poking about looking for frogs and sticklebacks.
Ah, such fond memories.
