So I'm going to NY. I'm staying in a crazy hostel for cheap, ala The Beach, except it in the Bowery or something. Right near really cool things. Bit scared and excited. Going to try and get tattooed while I am there if I can.

Whoa whoa whoa, She's a Lady. None of this is true about me. I am a British gal who has recently uplifted and moved to the US to be with her lovely husband. Between the two of us we have racked up some lovely tattoos and a daughter called Adelaide. She is okay, I guess.

Go for it. It will be an amazing experience, just hold your head high, look like you know what you're doing and have fun.
Oh, and take a book with you for when you have to sit and eat at a table on your own...i've had to do that lots for work and it makes such a difference to how comfortable it feels, because then no-one thinks you've been stood up.
