Advertisements

So I think I finally figured out how to take the ads off my blog. I know that sounds pretty retarded and normally I like to think of myself as being internet savvy however I decided with the move a change was in order, and switched my old template for one of Bloggers new ones. Well this was a big mistake because they are all god awful and I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to make it look not horrid without resorting to a book of computer wizardry. I am using Firefox and also have all manner of ads and spam stuff turned off, but I was horrified to look at my blog in another browser and saw that Google had infiltrated some ads here and there. Upon closer digging, apparently I have been signed up to the Adsense program forever, and this made me feel rather angry and somewhat violated by the internet. 1. I never made any money of it, and I don't remember signing up so I signed in and cancelled it where possible, and jsut edited my now ancient template to make sure there are not any there anymore. You should please tell me if missed any. Grrr. I am not boing all ads on other peoples blogs, but I want this one advertisement free. So now I am showing my support for http://www.adfreeblog.org/ and you should all too. I am also now supporting a link to expat blogs as well seeing as I have moved (again) and intend to write more about my adventures here in Merry Old New England and how we settle in. Google just emailed me saying that they cannot cancel my request for AdSense. I haven't yet read the email but I expect it is going to say something along the lines of them being massive cunts.

Going to do some more quilting today... as the next stage starts. I am super tired again today after our adventure to visit Rusty's cousin (of sorts) in Mass. and just Adelaide being a shrieking banshee child and keeping Patrick and I up/waking us early/generally annoying me. We are hoping to have some date nights planned, together with a trip to Portsmouth tomorrow, and then a lovely trip to visit friends in Albany NY this weekend. Hopefully some pictures to follow. In the meantime, I am going to jump in the shower, after I have shamelessly posted this link to Patrick's ebay auctions: HERE! Lots of car geekery, computer game related stuff and also some comic delights to be listed.
