And months later, I had a baby!

Hello everyone!  If you hadn't guessed, Patrick and I have had a rather hectic couple of days... my waters broke last Wednesday morning and after  some driving to Nashua, prodding and investigations at the doctors office, I was admitted to the birthing center begrudgingly given Pitocin to speed things up from where I was at (3cm dilated, sporadic contractions in one location that weren't registering on the monitor thing).  

They turned that on at 9pm and I got some morphine and anti-nausea medication (which was rubbish) and I asked for an epidural that never turned up... by 11.11pm I was ready to push.  The epidural man arrived as I was pushing and the nurse told him to go away, and 4 minutes later out came Magnus's head... and arm (hence why I wasn't progressing... because he was stuck behind my pubic bone).  Just like in his scan pictures, the little guy had his hands up, one of which was a little too up haha.  He only weighed 8lb 4oz and was just shy of 22" long... and is a little blonde/possibly redhead!  We were a little taken back at how little he was, but apparently I only put on 24lb for my entire pregnancy.  Result!  He is very well behaved but was very gassy and smelled like eggs when he farted for a day or so.  Boys are gross.  I have no idea what to do with all that junk they got and keep forgetting to cover up his business, which means piss everywhere.  My milk is in now and he is scoffing like a champ.  I'm looking like a boob volcano, ready to erupt at any point...

Didn't get the labor I wanted, but I'm glad it happened quickly and safely and Pat and I joke about some of the funny things that happened during it, and Patrick was an absolute champ throughout by the way, so be sure to give him a big pat on the back virtually.
